Working at heights/pole top rescue refresher

 

It is recommended to complete a refresher course each 2 years to maintain competency and keep up to date with any changes.

 

On the refresher course we will review your ability to:

 

• Identify the hazards associated with wearing a safety harness and associated equipment;
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems and equipment; 
• Check and fit a safety harness system;
• Use a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height;
• Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be activated in the event of a fall.
• Carry out pre-climbing safety checks on electricity network structures;
• Select electricity network structure climbing equipment;
• Use electricity network structure climbing equipment;
• Carry out work on electricity network structures and includes poles, towers, and any support for electric lines above ground level.
• Describe procedures for rescue from an electrical structure;
• Carry out rescue of a victim from an electrical structure;
• Report rescue from an electrical structure.
