Learn about the legislative requirements and suitable systems for working at heights.
Understand hazards associated with wearing a fall arrest harness, check, fit and use a safety harness system, and learn how to develop an effective rescue plan.
Identify anchor points and Install, use and remove a height safety system (e.g. static lines).
Recommended for people working at heights in a fall arrest harness required to install a temporary height safety system or supervise others while working at height.

 

NZQA unit standards include

  • US 17600 Explain safe work practices for working at heights (3 credits)
  • US 23229 Use a safety harness for personal fall prevention when working at height (4 credits)
  • US 15757 Use, install and disestablish proprietary fall arrest systems when working at height (4 credits)
