National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 4)
Completion of this will provide the learner with a National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 4) by NZQA.
The qualification is designed to be flexible in its application to meet the needs of candidates from different areas of industry. Learners can complete this course with the course work, pre-learning and assignments. Tutors deliver lectures for 5 days at different time intervals of the course. The course can be completed within 30 – 180 days. The completion time depends on the learner and how soon they complete their assignment and attend the lecture. Tutors give a total of 5 days of lectures face to face or online and continue to be in communication to support with assignments, via email or Skype.
This qualification is designed for all industries and intended that safety supervisors, co-ordinators or team leaders will be the main candidates for the qualification. The content assumes the candidate is a holder of the National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Workplace Safety) (Level 3) or has equivalent experience, and as such has a good grounding in safety specific practices within industry. The Compulsory and Elective A sections of the qualification focus on the practical management of occupational safety and health in the workplace, while the Elective B section allows candidates to select skills and knowledge relevant to their sector of industry.
Entry information: the National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Workplace Safety) (Level 3) or equivalent knowledge and skills, is recommended.
